There are 4 steps required to complete the offline installation onboard a vessel, please read the steps below to ensure you understand the process.
Step 1 - Request for offline access
The Vessel or Management Company must send a request for offline installation to firstname.lastname@example.org
A ticket will be created in our support system and all further communication will take place via the support ticket.
Manage My Vessel (MMV) will email an 'Offline Approval Document' to be electronically signed by the Management Company or the Vessel granting MMV approval to proceed with the Offline Access Request for the specific Vessel.
In addition a link will be provided for the Vessel to download a program (Belarc Report) that will analyze the server where the Offline Installation will reside for suitability.
To create a belarc report download the following program and run it on the PC/server where the offline client is to be installed. The program will bring up the completed report through a web browser which you can then save to pdf, or print to pdf.
Step 2 - Approval Document has been completed
Manage My Vessel will review the 'Offline Approval Document' and the Belarc Report to ensure the vessel has certified that they meet the minimum offline requirements.
Upon verification we will create a sandbox package of files that the Vessel will need to download onto the servers desktop.
MMV will update the support ticket and provide the URL for the download, along with an expiration date for that download.
A new 'Offline Installation Document' will be emailed which will need to be completed and signed by the responsible person onboard the Vessel. This document will provide detailed instructions and verify that the vessels IT responsibilities have been performed PRIOR to MMV logging into the vessels server to finalize the installation.
The vessel will have until the expiration date to download the installation the sandbox files and place them on the servers desktop.
The vessel will also need to download a client called ‘Log Me In’. This client will allow MMV to remotely access the server to install the files. Log Me In is available to download here:
Step 3 – Completing the Installation
Upon completion of the 'Offline Installation Document' the ticket will be updated with a link for the Responsible Person onboard the Vessel to pick an installation time .
Manage My Vessel will then remotely login to your server, via Log Me In, and install the sandbox packages.
Once completed MMV will update the support ticket confirming completion of the Offline Installation.
In addition MMV will send a final Document 'Offline Completion Certificate' which will provide information regarding the vessels access to the Offline Client. This document should be saved by the Vessel and/or Management Company as it will detail important information about the offline installation.
