Triggers and Automations

Permission-based access: What you can see and do in MMV depends on your assigned permissions. If a feature described here isn't visible in your account, ask your Administrator.

Send notifications and create alerts automatically, eliminating the need to constantly monitor the payroll queue. Triggers start actions when an event occurs, while Automations perform tasks according to a set schedule.

Setting Up Triggers

  1. On the blue ribbon, click Administration and select Triggers and Automations.
  1. In the top-right corner, click the three dots and select New Trigger.
  1. Enter a title for the trigger.
  1. Select Take Action When:

- Payroll Status Has Changed -- Triggers an action whenever the status of a payroll sheet is changed or updated.

- Held Payment Is Created / Updated -- Triggers an action when a Held Payment is created or when an existing Held Payment record is updated.

- Held Payment Status Has Changed -- Triggers an action when the status of a Held Payment changes, such as when a payment is released.

- Advance Payment Status Has Changed -- Triggers an action when an Advance Payment is created and whenever the Advance Payment progresses through the system.

  1. Make sure to check the Enabled box to activate the trigger.
  1. You may also add conditions to control when the trigger actions will execute.
  1. Click the Add Action icon if you want the trigger to send email or create alert.

Once the Action has been configured, click Submit to save the trigger.

Setting Up Automations

  1. In the top-right corner, click the three dots and select New Automation.
  1. Enter a title for the automation.
  1. In the designated field, enter the number of days.

From the dropdown menu, choose either:

- Days after the date specified in

- Days after the start of the month

  1. Make sure to check the Enabled box to activate the automation.
  1. You may also add conditions to filter when the automation actions are executed.
  1. Click the Add Action icon if you want the automation to send an email or create an alert.

Once the Action has been configured, click Submit to save the automation.
