At times a vessel may change Management Companies that are also using the MMV platform. MMV can transfer the Vessel from one Management Company's platform to another, provided both companies use MMV. This usually saves substantial time — almost all data not proprietary to the Management Company can be transferred.

In some instances additional work is needed outside the scope of a typical transfer. When that happens, additional billing of $250.00 per hour applies.
What transfers vs. what doesn't
Data that cannot be transferred usually consists of:
- Proprietary Safety Management Manuals from the Management Company
- Proprietary electronic forms from the Management Company
- Sensitive Crew and user information (due to GDPR and privacy laws)
Everything else — equipment lists, inventory, PMS jobs, historical data — generally moves over as part of the transfer.
Important for the incoming Management Company
Please don't create the vessel in the system. We'll handle this on the backend during the transfer process. The transfer cannot be completed to an account that already exists — we manage this internally to ensure everything moves over correctly.
