Offline Access for a Vessel

Performing a Manual Sync Onboard

Fleet account access: Offline access is coordinated between the vessel's Fleet administrator (yacht management company) and MMV support. The installation itself is performed remotely by MMV once the vessel's server meets the minimum requirements. Offline access is a Fleet-level feature — Sub-Account, Crew, and Payroll users do not manage it.

The MMV Offline system syncs automatically on a schedule (typically 02:00), but you may need to run a manual sync — after a network outage, before an important report, or if the auto-sync didn't complete. Here's how.

Step 1 — Find the Sync icon

The Sync client normally runs in the system tray (bottom-right of the Windows taskbar). Look for the MMV Sync icon.

Locate the Sync icon in the system tray (lower-right of the desktop).

If it's not in the tray, move on to Step 2.

Step 2 — Launch the Sync client from the desktop

If the Sync client wasn't in the tray, find the shortcut on the desktop called Offline Sync Client and double-click it.

Step 3 — Open the Sync client

Click Run to open the Sync client window.

Step 4 — Start the sync

Once the ManageMyVessel.com Offline Synchronization Client window is open, click Sync. Sync duration depends on how much data needs to move between the server and the cloud in both directions.

Step 5 — Watch for the success message

A Sync Succeeded message means the sync completed successfully.

If a sync error appears instead, contact support@managemyvessel.com with the error details.

Step 6 — Close the window

Once sync is finished, you can close the window. We recommend leaving the Sync client running minimized in the system tray so future auto-syncs can fire on schedule.

Common questions

How often does auto-sync run?

Auto-sync runs on a schedule set during install — typically at 02:00 daily. The exact schedule is noted in Section D of the Installation Request Form.

What if I get a sync error?

Take a screenshot of the error and email it to support@managemyvessel.com. Common causes are network connectivity, the sync client being closed, or the auto-sync user account being disabled.

Can I sync more often than the auto-sync schedule?

Yes — run a manual sync anytime by clicking Sync in the client window. Just make sure the vessel's internet connection is available.
