User roles are a fundamental concept in Manage My Vessel and work in conjunction with alerts and permissions to define and set exactly what a user can see and do in the system.
Each user that has access to the system will be assigned a user role and will see and get alerts as per that user roles settings. Should you want to change what a user has access to or change what alerts they receive you should navigate to their user role and amend that.
User roles are split into two categories:
- Fleet User Roles
- Sub Account User Roles
Fleet user roles will have access to the fleet account page and can have access to one or more sub accounts. Company employees such as Administrators and DPA's would normally be given a fleet user role.
Sub account user roles will not have access to the fleet account page and will only be able to login to a single sub account. These user roles would normally be assigned to crew such as Captains and Engineers.
