Forms & Checklists will form the bulk of the day to day interaction between the company and your vessels. Forms & Checklists can be created and used for ISM paperwork, such as Incident & defect reports; for crew management, such as familiarisations & appraisals; for safety & equipment checklists; and for any other uses you may traditionally use a piece of paper for.
In Manage My Vessel we have two terms for forms:
- Form Templates - These are the master forms that you create and edit which define what fields are within the form and the alerts and permissions against the forms
- Form Instances - These forms that have been created by a user and contain actual information. The form fields cannot be modified within an instance of the form, just that dates and text that has been input.
Just as with other parts of the system Forms & Checklists are entirely controlled by your system administrator(s) and can be customised to suit what you need access to and what you need to be alerted to.
This means that permissions can be set so that only certain users can read, edit or delete a form and only certain users get alerted when a form is created or edited.
We will go into more detail about how to create & edit form instances in the following pages, along with the creation of form templates.
